Ciba Health started in 2020 right as founder and CEO, Dr. Innocent Clement, volunteered countless hours in the emergency rooms of NYC during the Covid-19 pandemic. There, he was in the thick of reactive healthcare. It made him want to put all of his energy into elevating proactive healthcare—the very basis of Ciba Health today.

So, Dr. Clement created a highly-flexible solution: to stand alone and better the concerning trends in population health, to complement existing targeted disease programs, and to wrap around advanced primary care models so they can deliver ultra-personalized alternative care for their head-scratching cases.

What are Ciba Health’s top three differentiators?

Clinical rigor: Everyone kicks off their Ciba care with advanced labs and a visit with a double-board certified physician.  Then, they’re directed to a registered dietitian, and ongoing work with a health coach. Pairing this high-touch approach with connected devices (e.g. CGMs, sleep, and fitness trackers) means treatment and progress is closely monitored. This ultra-personalized experience makes lifestyle changes more sustainable, and delivers outcomes that patients love.

Outcomes: First, we are able to enroll 50% of eligible participants. Second, we see about 75% of participants complete our 12-month program. Last, we achieve a 98% disease reversal rate among participants who complete our program, with an 85% reduction in medication.

Root-cause methodology: We use a whole-body care and root-cause medicine approach to not only manage, but reverse chronic conditions: type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiometabolic issues, and digestive and autoimmune disorders.  This means that we can help employers, health plans, and brokers eliminate multiple vendors and reduce vendor confusion.

How does Ciba Health address social determinants of health?

Technology access: Participants are able to access the program via desktop or mobile device, and can communicate with their care team through video, chat, email, and phone calls based on their preferences. Ciba Health offers connected devices—at no extra cost—such as CGMs, blood pressure cuffs, digital scales, and more.

Technical and culturally-competent support: Ciba Health’s care team assists in the setup and use of technology. Such support ensures effective remote patient monitoring and straightforward communication between the care team and participants.

Intuitive and accessible user experiences: Ciba Health’s platform uses simple language, straightforward design, and a simple user experience whether a participant is using a laptop, tablet, or phone.

Accessible educational materials: Ciba Health publishes step-by-step instructions, visual workflows, and video tutorials that can help participant seamlessly navigate the platform and be reassured of their privacy and security.

Interpretation services: Ciba Health provides healthcare interpretation services to all patients who express the need.

Transportation challenges: If US-based participants are unable to get to a lab site, we send phlebotomists to take at-home labs.

What devices are supplied to members through the program?

Typically, the devices provided will depend on the individual needs of the participant. However a CGM, digital scale, blood pressure cuff, activity tracker and sleep device are included in most case.

What does your onboarding experience look like?

We offer extensive onboarding support, including a welcome webinar, individual outreach, welcome kits, and account setup assistance to make new participants feel as comfortable as ever as they begin their Ciba Health journey.

How does Ciba Heath monitor and measure customer satisfaction and quality assurance?

Ciba Health provides extensive reporting to clients, including launch reports, ongoing engagement reports, quarterly progress reports, and bi-annual clinical progress reports. As part of that process, we apply NPS at the beginning and end of the program.
