FreeStyle Libre 2 CGM

  • Keep your CGM on your arm for two weeks after application.
  • Your CGM has a strong adhesive tape, but it may get caught when removing your shirt. If you’d like to secure it more you can use an adhesive wrap like this:

  • If your CGM comes off before the two week period is up, please contact a nurse care manager at [email protected] or (347) 352-2316.
  • Download the FreeStyle Libre 2 app to your smartphone via the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android), and follow its setup instructions. Use the default glucose unit of measure and count carbs in grams.

  • Please note: do not take high doses of vitamin C while wearing the CGM. It could cause faulty readings.
  • Place the device on the upper back side of your non-dominant arm. Tip: wear a short-sleeved shirt while setting up your CGM.
  • Use an alcohol wipe to disinfect your arm before applying the CGM.
  • Follow the steps in the guidebook (included), or click on “How to Apply a Sensor” in the app. Tip: use a mirror to help with placement.
  • Scan your sensor. Refer to page 3 of the guidebook for help on scanning your sensor. It’s a bit different between iPhones and Androids. If you’re having difficulty, remove your phone cover, and try again.
  • Change the alarm settings if you’d like by using the directions at the bottom of the guidebook. It’s worthing noting:
  1. You cannot turn off the nighttime low blood sugar alarm
  2. Click here for detailed instructions
  • If you need support from FreeStyle Libre, call 1-855-632-8658 any day of the week from 8:00am to 8:00pm EST, except for holidays.
  • You may shower with the CGM on, but do not swim or bathe without protecting your sensor. To cover your sensor, consider:
  1. Waterproof Adhesive Patches (one time use)
  2. Armband for Freestyle Libre
